New Moon Cloth Menstrual Pads ~ Pad Pot Options
New Moon Cloth Menstrual Pads ~ Pad Pot Options
When using cloth menstrual pads a soaking pot is needed to keep your pads in between launderings. Soaking used pads in cold water helps prevent staining. Also (okay, brace yourself for the yuck factor if you're a wee bit squeamish), the used water makes wonderful plant fertilizer...as long as it is just straight water that you soak your pads in. Here are a few suggestions for pad pots...but your options are only limited by your imagination.
You can use everyday containers from around the house such as an ice cream bucket, a honey bucket, Tupperware (basically any lidded container) or try one of the great suggestions on this page for something a little more fun and funky...
These are just a few suggestions. The idea is to make your choice personal and individual...and have fun with it!
Pottery makes great soaking pots.
Try a galvanized watering can. Can also be decorated with toll painting for those of you with a creative touch! And for those who really want to go "green" you can use the water on your plants (I know, sounds yucky but you'd be AMAZED how much your plants will love it). Mother nature's own natural fertilizer.
A ceramic bean pot.
"Beans, beans the musical fruit…"
(sorry about that...couldn't resist)
An ice bucket.
A funky looking old fashioned antique enamel pot.
A wide mouthed tea pot.
