Everyone's disposable cost per month is different, as well as everyone's cloth pad stash varies greatly in styles and cost so the following formula is designed to calculate your personal savings.

Cloth pad life expectancy: 10 years.

    SAVINGS CALCULATION FORMULA: AxB-C=D

A. Calculate the amount you spend/spent on disposable pads per month

B.  Multiply by 120 (12 months x 10 years of cloth pad life expectancy)

C.  Subtract total cloth purchase cost

D.  Equals total savings

You don’t even calculate in laundry costs because the pads just go in with whatever laundry you are currently doing so they piggy back on the cost you would already be putting out for laundry anyway.

If you haven't yet purchased your pad stash, the above formula can help give you an idea of what you would like to spend to get the greatest savings (just calculate in the cloth totals with the tentative totals you are looking at spending). It's a great way to help you set a cloth budget.
