3-Pack Fleece Diaper Covers Pull-up style. Single layer. Keeps moisture in amazingly well, no leaking, no soaking through. Made from high quality Malden Mills sherpa fleece, they are water resistant while at the same time being breathable, allowing air flow to keep baby comfortable, much more so than standard plastic or nylon pants. Innovative design eliminates the need for fold-over hems, so bulk is decreased dramatically. Soft, adorable, beautiful natural buff color, almost too cute to cover with clothes. These can be machine washed and dried, staying soft and fluffy (no pilling) with repeated washings. Extremely durable, unlike plastic or nylon diaper covers which tend to break down with machine laundering.
Information Fitted Diapers SWEET CHEEKS diapers work on a removable liner system (instead of having the liner sewn between the shell layers, it's separate) which means you get to customize your diapers and control the absorbency based on your baby's needs. You control how thick (or trim) and where the liner is placed (further up front for a boy, more centered for a girl). At time of purchase, each diaper shell (two layers) comes with one removable washable liner (four layers) for a total of six layers of soft absorbent flannel. Extra liners can be purchased as needed as your baby grows and the absorbency needs are increased. The diapers are designed to accommodate multiple liners. Regulars are trimmed in white stitching and Toddlers in colored stitching to distinguish between sizes at a glance. Cover needed. Because of the removable liner system, these diapers wash very thoroughly, take less time in the dryer, and line dry beautifully. 100% quality cotton flannel. White only. PLEASE NOTE: If you are purchasing new or used SWEET CHEEKS diapers through another outlet, please be sure to ask if the original liner is with it, as it is part of the original diaper. I never sell just the diaper shell on it's own, it always comes with a liner included. If it is not included, you are not getting a full SWEET CHEEKS diaper. 100% cotton fabric needs 2-3 washings to reach full absorbency potential. Fold Back Tabs I don't make fold back tabs for my diapers as these face the baby and are a potential for irritation. Instead, I suggest you close the diaper at it's largest position before laundering (works the same as tabs to avoid "diaper chains" but with no chance of irritation to baby's sensitive skin). Your baby's comfort is a priority at SWEET CHEEKS! To Fold Diapers Smaller Place diaper with long velcro closest to you and inside of diaper facing up. Place liner to very back. Fold long velcro to inside of diaper along bottom edge of velcro, fold back again the width of velcro to front of diaper (accordion style). Also, you can decrease the bulk between a small baby's legs by folding the liner in half lengthwise. A Perfect Fit Means No Leaks The innovative design of the fully adjustable velcro closure at the waist and the soft gentle elastic at the legs maintain a perfect fit at all times, to contain any mess, even those of breastfed babes. Contour Diapers 17” x 12” (at widest point) Will fit from newborn on up to 18” waist. An economical alternative to fitted diapers, SWEET CHEEKS 2 ply pinnable contour (shaped) diapers have an easy to use hourglass design which can be folded down to fit smaller, or left as is for a larger fit. Simply because diapers and covers need different laundering techniques. Covers will break down faster if laundered as often and in the heavy duty way diapers need to be laundered, which means the all-in-one has a much shorter diaper life than a regular diaper. Also, covers can be used more than once before needing laundering whereas diapers need to be laundered after each use. That way you only need about 3-6 covers for every 2-3 dozen diapers, where with "all-in-ones" you are purchasing a cover sewn to each diaper...which is MUCH more expensive. Fleece covers, for example, can be rinsed out quickly and easily by hand, if needed quickly, and will dry in about 30-60 minutes if hung dry, or 5-10 minutes in the dryer...and they are SO soft! As well, a cover that goes completely over a diaper prevents "wicking," the problem of wet diaper fabric coming in contact with baby clothing or bedding, hence "wicking" the moisture from the diaper onto other fabrics. An "all-in-one" diaper is essentially a cover sewn to the diaper instead of completely encasing it, as a separate cover does. That means there is diaper fabric exposed at the seams which can easily come in contact with clothing or bedding. SWEET CHEEKS covers are made of Malden Mills sherpa fleece for softness, durability and breathability ...only the best for SWEET CHEEKS babies! Laundering Wash all new items before initial use. Top Laundering Question Q: Does flannel become stiff and hard with use and age? A: No. All fabrics only become stiff when the detergent(s) used to launder them don't rinse clear of the fabric fibers (causing build-up). If washed in biodegradable laundry products they wash completely clean and stay soft and absorbent and the life of the fabric is extended considerably. Laundering Tip for Diapers New 100% cotton fabric (diapers, liners, breast pads, New Moon pads, etc.) will initially need 3-4 washings to reach full absorbency potential. Remove solids before putting diapers to soak. Soak in diaper pail in solution of washing soda, or vinegar, and water. BLEACH IS NOT RECOMMENDED as it is a corrosive and can break down fabrics. To launder, put contents of diaper pail into washer, run through spin cycle, run through rinse cycle, then wash on regular cycle in hot water. Care of Fleece Covers Machine or hand wash in warm or cold water and either hang or tumble dry. A diaper cover will only work as well as the diaper it's covering, so be sure your diapers meet your baby's absorbency needs by adding extra liners as needed. Laundering Hint (Diapers and Covers) Items dried on the clothesline are more absorbent than those that are dried in the dryer...and the sun works as a natural whitener! Also, using liquid fabric softeners will decrease fabric absorbency so don't use it on diapers but it is great to use on diaper covers to help keep their moisture barrier properties at the maximum. How to Calculate Your Savings Below is information on estimated diapering needs for the approximate 2 1/2 years your child will be in diapers, calculated using the standard average of 8 diapers per day...as well as cost comparisons. To get an idea of just how much you can save, input your price amounts where applicable (cost of diapers, covers, cost of diaper service, cost of disposables, etc). YIPES!!! ...which go directly into landfills.  We’ve Come a Long Way Baby! Cloth diapering has come a long way from the folding and pinning our mothers had to do. The SWEET CHEEKS system is very easy. The diapers go on just like disposables (they have velcro closures and elasticized legs). The main difference is that you will need a pull on waterproof cover (we make a great fleece cover that is not only waterproof but also soft and breathable). The benefits of cloth are huge compared to disposables. One big one is cost. You can save SOOO much more by using cloth. Disposables cost between $2000 to $3000 for the 2 1/2 years that an average baby is in diapers. Cloth diapers come in at way under $1000 (and that includes the cost of the diaper supplies, laundry soap, hot water, hydro, etc.). I won't even begin to get into how much better cloth is for the environment. That's just a great big given! With disposables you toss them into the garbage (the average baby goes through approximately 7000 diapers by the time they are finished with diapers). With cloth you toss them into a diaper pail and do one extra load of laundry every 2-4 days. Once the diapers have been laundered just take them out of the dryer, put them in a laundry basket and kick the basket under the crib. No folding! When you need a diaper you just reach down and grab one and however many liners you will need and VOILA....easy! SWEET CHEEKS works on a removable liner system. Instead of having the liners sewn between the two layer shell they are made separately so that they come apart in the wash, wash very thoroughly and dry really quickly (which makes them great for drying on the clothesline). When diapering you just place the liners inside the shell and that's it. Laundering is also very simple. Just put the entire contents of the diaper pail into the washer, put through a spin cycle, put through a rinse cycle and then put through a regular hot wash cycle. This gets rid of the dirty water before the full laundering cycle so there is no messing around with dumping water into toilets, etc...and everything (including the inside of the washing machine) is thoroughly clean at the end. I will warn you, though...many moms (and dads) find cloth diapering addictive and swear they'll never go back to disposables. They actually hate having to use disposables when they travel. I was the same way. I really liked it when all those soft fluffy diapers came out of the dryer and I would put a warm, clean, soft, fluffy, comfy one on the baby...whether or not he needed a change at that moment...see what I mean?...addictive! :o) Welcome to the wonderful world of cloth diapering! Definitions of Diaper Style Terms FITTED: Shaped to fit, elasticized legs, adjustable velcro or snap waist closure. These diapers are great for containing blowouts. Cover needed. When using this style, the diaper cover can be used over and over throughout the day as the diaper contains any mess. PINNABLE: Shaped to fit, elasticized legs, no velcro or snap waist closure. Pins needed. These diapers are also great for containing blowouts. Cover needed. When using this style, the diaper cover can be used over and over throughout the day as the diaper contains any mess. CONTOURED: Shaped with no elastic around the legs. Some come with adjustable waist closure, some without (for use with pins). These diapers tend toward a lot of blowouts as there is no elasticized leg gathering to contain the mess. Cover needed. Cover usually needs to be changed each time a messy diaper is changed. FLAT: Diaper is one ply square fabric. Folding and pinning necessary. Cover needed. Cover usually needs to be changed each time a messy diaper is changed. PREFOLD: Multiple ply diaper, usually sewn in thickness of 2x4x2. No folding but pins necessary. Cover needed. Cover usually needs to be changed each time a messy diaper is changed. ALL-IN-ONE: Diaper and cover sewn together. No cover needed. Whole unit needs to be changed with each diaper change. Can be very expensive (see above). FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions Q: Do I need to change both the diaper and the waterproof cover each time I change the baby? A: No. Only the diaper needs to be changed each time it is wet or soiled (diaper shell and liners). The waterproof cover can be used over again, only needing to be changed if it becomes soiled or at the end of the day, whichever comes first. Q: What is flannel? The vinegar works as a disinfectant without the harmful and corrosive effects of bleach. Also, washing soda can be used in place of the vinegar. Both are very economical and work well. Q: Should I use fabric softener when laundering diapers? A: No, fabric softener decreases the absorbency of diapers. Also, diapers dried on the line are more absorbent than diapers dried in the dryer. Q: How do I launder the diapers? A: For best results, pour entire contents of the diaper pail into the washing machine...run through a spin cycle...run through a rinse cycle...wash in hot water through the normal cycle with biodegradable laundering agent.
